Sales Engineer for Wyse Technology SEA region

Motive
Generation of sales and be a prime technical resource in the rapidly expanding market – Thin Computing and virtual desktops in South East Asia.
It is envisaged that Wyse Sales Engineer will have a good technical grasp of the types of technologies associated with Server based computing coupled with an ability to generate new sales opportunities within this market segment based in Asia Pacific.

Primary Focus

The Sales Engineer position is focused on shortening the sales cycle by overcoming technical hurdles within reseller/partners and end user accounts, as well as provides services to Wyse RSM – Wyse Regional Sales Manager.

It is also focused on driving sales with technical expertise, account management skills, sales ability and able to promote good customer “Wyse” experience. Sales engineer must be able to present the SBC – Server Based Computing with thin clients practice and the TCO – Total Cost of Ownership to customers/partners and able to identify key business values in adopting this technology. Thinking out of the square and looking into individual customer needs to identify what best fits and to provide uniqueness and customer satisfaction.

Sales Engineer Role
- Working with the appropriate teams to resolve issues and remove barriers. (Partners/customer/ Wyse engineering team).
- Demonstrate good listening skills for customer requirements and able to deliver solutions and suggestion to customers in a very credible and efficient manner.
- To listen for possible opportunities within the working account as well as any possible upcoming technical hurdles the customer might have. Identify needs and be rapport for any technical matters within organizations to solve and promote thin client solutions and product limitations and benefits.
- To provide feedback to the sales force and management team and making sure any early implementation of possible hurdles are tackled or identified.
- Understand the SBC structure inclusive of applications, other client platforms already deployed and client management and deployment. Understanding of virtualization technology will be a huge plus.

Technical Skills
Main experience in SBC – Server Based Computing
- Citrix Presentation Server 3.0 and 4.5.
- Terminal Services: Windows NT, Windows 2000 server, Windows 2003 server and Windows 2008 Server
- Virtualization Technology using Windows 2008 Server, XenServer, VMWare technologies.
- ESX 3.0, 3.5, VDM, Leostream, Provisions Networks.
- Tarantella or terminal emulation (mainframe) (Basic understanding)

Experience if basic MS OS platforms, client and server. Linux is a plus for emerging markets.

Experience in LAN / WAN Technologies
- Routers/switches, analyzing network traffics, DHCP, DNS

Experience in Database concepts
- Oracle, Microsoft SQL and MSDE.

Experience in remote access and client management software concept.
- Active directory, IIS.

Experience in security - Anti Virus and various firewall technology.

 
General Skills
- Posses and proven strong communication skills, sales ability, technical expertise, and able to work as a team as well as independently
- Good written skills in the form of presentations, emails, white papers, and technical notes. Confident and credible communication ability with all levels of organization.
- Ability to deliver technical terms to management and to various levels of end users.
- Able to recognize the comfort level of the audience and present technical information tailored to the audience.
- Develop presentation materials when needed to account specification.
- Educating the internal sales teams as well as partners of Wyse products and any known issues and how to present/manage them to customers.
- Knowing how to sell and position all Wyse products.

 
Character
The Sales Engineer is a self-starter that manages time well and activities with minor guidance or interaction from the RSM and the Regional manager. Some one with a positive attitude, who can represent Wyse positively in front of business partners. Ability to prioritize and manage a very large number of diverse tasks in one time and able to manage stress effectively.
